本日はバイリンガル日記です。

We don't often use English ourselves in Japan, but we can use it in our daily life with our son.

わたしたちは日本でほとんど英語を使わないけど、日常生活で息子に英語を使うことができます。

However, our mother tongue is still the most important to us and will be the main language used in our household.

しかし、母国語が一番大切であり家庭でのメインの言語です。

For our son to learn many beautiful Japanese words and sound, we read a lot of Japanese picture books.

息子が美しい日本語に触れるために、日本語の絵本はたくさん読みます。

This is one of our recent favorites.

これは最近のお気に入りのひとつです。

I give the excuse that I am buying books for my son, but really I tend to buy the books in my taste rather than in his.

息子なために、と言い訳しながら自分の趣味を押し付け気味です。

Luckily, this book is a big hit for him, too!

でも良かったことに、この本は息子にも大ヒットです！

Every time you flip the page, an unpredictable story is waiting for you.

ページをめくるたびに、奇想天外な展開がまってます。

My son remembers what comes next, so he tells me the story before we flip the page which is so sweet.

息子は次に何がくるか覚えていて、ページをめくる前にその話を披露してくれるのがとてもかわいいです。

He's started talking a lot this month.

息子はこの1か月で良く話すようになりました。

Especially, he likes to imitate onomatopoeias immediately after he catches the sound.

特に音を聞いたすぐあとに、オノマトペを真似するのが好きです。

I often get impressed when I see his words or sounds are a perfect match for a situation, or when he uses them for unexpected situations.

わたしはよく感激します。

彼の言葉や音がシチュエーションに完ぺきにあっていた時や

意外なシチュエーションでそれらを使っている時に。

I find it very interesting how he sees or listens to this world.

わたしはとても面白く感じます。

どのように彼がこの世界を見たり聞いているかを。

音節はon・o・mat・o・poe・ia

発音は　ὰnəm`æṭəpíːə

オノマトピーア（ピにアクセント）という感じです。

複数形も取れんるんですねー！
